Fencing Attachment Style Quiz

This quiz was created using ChatGPT and applying relationship attachment theory to typical saber fencing actions. Of course, every bout is different and each response to an opponent takes into account previous actions, history, strategy, and personal style. And sometimes it’s just a feeling.

But what if we could categorize fencing actions towards personality types? The romance in ONE TOUCH AWAY was inspired by the conversation on the strip, so it might be fun to look at the sport in a different way too…

Proxemics - the study of how humans use physical space and distance in communication, reflecting cultural norms, relationships, and power dynamics.

Proxemics isn’t just about physical distance - it’s about regulated closeness. How near or far we allow someone to be is a living signal of safety, desire, power, trust, and timing. In relationships, distance is rarely static; it oscillates.

That oscillation - the back and forth - is where the story lives.

That sounds a lot like fencing doesn’t it?!

From there we move to attachment styles. You are welcome to look that up on your own. For our purposes here, in collaboration with ChatGPT, four fencing styles were created that reflect these same attachment styles. You might find yourself right away or feel you are a combination of a few, but this quiz was designed to give a rough result based on general actions in common scenarios.
