Logline: Former Olympic fencing star, Darcy Quinn, struggles to control his attraction to his new student and recent divorcee, Elle Dannan. Both on a journey to reclaim their power, they learn their fated love is the greatest challenge of all.
Darcy Quinn was an accomplished fencer by his late 20s. He had won various Junior titles under the tutelage of his father, a renowned Olympic Coach. As an adult, Darcy competed on the world stage, taking home a World Championship and qualified for the 2028 Olympic Games. Like many in that position, Darcy had his pick of the ladies and was a celebrity in the fencing world. And when allegations of his father’s relations with students loomed, he was advancing out from under the shadow. Darcy Quinn was making a name for himself. He was on the rise.
It all nearly ended on the Gold Medals stage at the Olympic Games.
Elle Dannan was a 40-something lady living the trad wife life. She attended fancy tech company parties, drove her son to fencing tournaments, and lived in a huge house in Los Angeles, CA. But once her son went off to college, Elle realized she gave so much to her family that she truly lost herself. She needed something all her own. And fencing stirred a new power within. She got divorced and started a simple life, as a driving instructor living in her camper in the hills.
When Elle saw the horrible fencing accident at the 2028 Olympics, she understood life was short and there’s no time for overthinking.
One year after all the Olympic drama, Darcy is almost hit by Elle’s car. Not the meet-cute that inspires confidence. However, as fate would have it, Darcy takes a job as a coach at Elle’s fencing gym and they are paired up together as coach and student. Face to face. Up and down the fencing strip with sabres in hand. Connection sparks!
Darcy is determined to switch to his non-dominant hand and make a comeback to the sport. Elle is determined to earn a medal around her neck to prove she’s got her power back. Two determined people. A shared passion for a sport. And a chemistry to be entangled if they cross the line.
Each lesson is more than fencing. Because, fencing is life.

Writer Bio
Lindsey Talbot is a screenwriter and children’s book author living in Santa Monica, California. She has been writing, studying, and honing her craft for the last seventeen years.
After observing her son in the sport of fencing, she took an active interest and began her own training. While pulling from lessons and classes she attended at Avant Garde Fencers Club, Lindsey also consulted with World Champion Lydia Fabry on the finer details of the sport. Intrigued by the honor, decorum, and conversation in movement, she found fencing to be a perfect analogy for human relationships. ONE TOUCH AWAY is her love letter to the sport of fencing and all the internal struggles we face along our own individual paths.
